Pole 67 Beach - Kohala coast, The Big island
Take turn off main hwy (19) to Puako. First right ( opposite Transfer Station), go past State Beach parking. Telephone pokes are numbered - look for 67 (partly painted white). Road in is rough but passable - rental cars will make it. Park at portable toilet, hike up the remaining road and then hike down to the right. There's a trail.....not far at all and slippers are fine. Low tide is best for swimming in "lagoon" to the right of the beach. Beach is small with plenty of shade.
